Case Review: Low Back Pain & Left Leg neuropathy

Treatment of: Scoliosis with Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression

Condition:  Patient presented with constant moderate low back pain, which was aggravated by bending, twisting, lifting sitting over 10 minutes and standing over 5 minutes.  The patient also complained of moderate to severe left leg pain, and associated numbness and burning sensations.

Patient:  52-year-old female with a long history of low back pain.

Objective findings:  Severe Rotatory Scoliosis.

Treatment to date:  Chiropractic and physical therapy provided ongoing relief.

Initial Pain Level:  8 out of 10, with ten considered the worst possible pain.

Course of Care: 20 sessions of axial decompression over 6 weeks, combined with a specific stretching and neuromuscular education protocol, which was initiated after the 10th treatment.

Short Term Outcome:  Patient achieved a 100 percent reduction of pain or a pain level of ‘0’ on the 20th treatment.

Comments:  I never expected to be able to live pain free. My goal was to reach a level of pain below ‘5’.  That goal was accomplished by the 6th treatment. By my 12th visit my pain was down to a ‘1’!
