Case Review: LOW BACK PAIN WITH RIGHT LOWER EXTREMITY RADICULOPATHY

Condition:  Constant Low back pain radiating down right leg

Patient:  51 Year old female on disability for over a year, since a work injury

Objective findings:  NCV/EMG:  Right L5-S1 Radiculopathy

Treatment to date:  Physical Therapy, Chiropractic, Bracing, Bed rest Activity restrictions, Medication

Initial Disability Level:  PAIN LEVEL  4-5/10 Constant

  MOBILITY:        50% 

Course of Care: 20 axial decompressions over six weeks   

Short Term Outcome:  Patient achieved 100% relief or  a pain level of ‘0’.

Discharge Disability Level:  0% on the Revised Oswestry Scale.

Patient Comments:  Much improved, no longer has morning pain.  Only experiences tingling when  bending.
